Simba runs away, but Scar believes him to be dead. Mufasa saves Simba’s life, but at the expense of his own. Scar lures Simba into a wildebeest stampede. His plan fails, and this leads into the next plot point. His goal is to kill the young Simba so that he may one day take control of the throne.

Inciting IncidentĪfter we learn more about the characters, the inciting incident occurs on page 16. The scene sets up how the lions rule over this land, and the song sets up the themes the movie will explore. Over this scene, the song “Circle of Life” plays.
